Publishing Ethics

The Journal of Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Computing (JAMSC) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics through a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. The journal adheres to the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) during the 2nd World Conference on Research Integrity in Singapore in 2010. These guidelines ensure responsible research reporting and ethical conduct in publishing. JAMSC reserves the right to retract articles that violate publication ethics or involve malpractices, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification, at any stage. The journal employs plagiarism detection software to screen submissions and will promptly report suspected plagiarism or duplicate publication.

I. Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors submitting to JAMSC are expected to adhere to the following ethical responsibilities:

The submitted work must be original and not previously published elsewhere.
All authors, contributors, and sources must be appropriately credited.
Authors are responsible for ensuring the manuscript is language-edited before submission.
The work must not be copied or plagiarized, in whole or in part, from any other source.
Financial support and any conflicts of interest related to the research must be disclosed.
Authors are obliged to notify the editor of any errors or inaccuracies in their work and cooperate to correct them.

Simultaneous submission of a manuscript to multiple publications constitutes a breach of publication ethics. All submissions must be made through the journal’s online submission system.

II. Editors’ Responsibilities

The editorial team at JAMSC is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the publication process by:

Ensuring that all submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process before publication.
Preventing conflicts of interest between authors, editors, and reviewers.
Maintaining confidentiality of all manuscript-related information prior to publication.

III. Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the quality and integrity of JAMSC publications. They are expected to:

Provide timely, objective, and constructive feedback to improve the manuscript, without personal criticism.
Promptly notify the editor if they are unable to review a manuscript.
Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript and not discuss it with others.
Ensure objectivity by reviewing manuscripts impartially, supported by clear arguments.
Verify proper acknowledgment of sources, ensuring all citations are accurate and relevant.
Identify any overlap between the reviewed manuscript and previously published work, notifying the editor if detected.
Disclose any conflicts of interest arising from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors or institutions connected to the manuscript. Manuscripts with such conflicts will not be considered.

Handling of Ethical Violations

If plagiarism or other ethical violations are detected during the review or editorial process, the manuscript will be rejected immediately. If plagiarism is identified after publication, the article will be removed from the journal’s website, and an appropriate announcement will be made. JAMSC may also notify the author’s funding agencies, institutions, and the original authors whose work was plagiarized. Reports of plagiarism or ethical concerns should be sent to editor@jamsc.aastemer.org.

COPE Guidelines

JAMSC adheres to COPE’s international standards for authors, which emphasize:

Conducting research in an ethical and responsible manner, complying with relevant legislation.
Presenting results clearly, honestly, and without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.
Describing methods clearly to enable confirmation of findings by others.
Ensuring originality, avoiding plagiarism, and confirming the work has not been published elsewhere.
Taking collective responsibility for submitted and published work.
Accurately reflecting individuals’ contributions to authorship.
Disclosing funding sources and relevant conflicts of interest.
